as a living, breathing and interactive digital tool.
WHY DIGITISE?
Digitising a WQSP is a more efficient way to integrate safety into your business operations than the old paper-based approach. If you have a cloud-based and connected ‘living document’, it will track all activities (or a lack of activity) and send you (or your team) notifications, alerts, assign tasks to ensure every action is up to date. This can’t be done with a paper document - even if you’ve digitised documents in a document management system.
Even better, it can be connected to your Internet of Things platform which receives continuous sensor data direct from each site, providing valuable data on water quality. With digitised data, comes the ability to introduce further innovative technology such as analytics and machine learning.
Every single action in our digital platform is tracked. When data is updated or altered, an automatic audit trail captures who made the changes, what the changes were and when. If something goes wrong and you’re called into a client, EPA or Worksafe meeting - your audit trail is documented. Reporting just got a whole lot easier too - information is collated the way you need it for regular or annual reviews.
FEATURE-RICH INCLUSIONS
Our off the shelf technology visually represents the stages in the creation of a WQSP in the shape of an infinity symbol (because maintaining WQSPs is continuous). If required, these stages can be modified to suit your business needs. The infinity symbol is segmented into the below eight key stages of a risk management process with colours highlighting areas requiring attention:
Create the WQSP building blocks such as the site, stakeholders and the regulatory framework.
Document the water supply description, the entities and elements that make up the system through goals, survey reports and sampling results.
Articulate all the applicable hazard events and the inherent risks from water collection through to consumption.
Determine appropriate control measures and improvement plans for identified hazards.
Define how the controls will be monitored to determine how effectively risks are being measured are managed.
Capture results of measurement activities e.g. survey results or telemetry data from the system.
Identify actions, plans for emergency responses, incidents and corrective actions.
Define and create a repository for documents such as operations, maintenance and validation plans.
Our Digital WQSP can incorporate multiple sites (one infinity symbol for each). It collates all the data points such as tasks, checklists, inspections and test results through to hazard events, incident reports and quality goals. With the assistance of automated assessments, allocation of tasks, results and reminders, all water quality safety actions will be completed on time and updates documented well ahead of audits or reports are due.
